Almost thirty years ago, Bandon was destroyed in a human war, and then abandoned. As it is whenever a city is abandoned by its human caretakers, nature took over. After a few years, strays that had fled during the war discovered that their city was now a safe haven and began to move in. Soon they were a powerful force, and formed three packs. Over the last twenty-five years the packs grew strong, following wise and talented leaders. There was peace and no threat of human involvement in sight.
Then disaster struck and the leader of the Rengar pack was struck down by disease. Hekmatyar, a strong-willed dog who was a great leader with less-than-noble intentions, took over, and before long the other two old leaders of Atero and Reffani pack turned up dead as well. New leaders took the throne, and Hekmatyar was quick to try and force his beliefs on them. Hekmatyar has targeted all dogs with coats containing a mixture of black and brown as unclean, and he has convinced the other leaders to do the same. Dogs with this coat color are now in danger, whether there are only a few of them or many. For now, these dogs and the dogs who disagree with the new policy in the three packs have formed Crane pack. While Hekmatyar wants to target loners as well as the dogs in Crane pack, the other two leaders are more hesitant, reluctant even to follow Hekmatyar’s strange new idea of discrimination.
There's a secret to this whole scheme of Hekmatyar's, of course. He didn't invent the idea of discriminating against dogs of a certain color overnight and for no reason at all. You see, when Hekmatyar took over there was another dog in Rengar, one descended from the founder of the pack. His name was Nathan and he held firm to the original ideals of the packs. He challenged Hekmatyar's rule, calling him a coward and proclaiming that he wasn't fit to lead. Some of the others began to believe Nathan, and Hekmatyar then devised the plot of getting rid of specific coat colors, claiming that they were unclean and didn't fit in with the others. Nathan happened to be black and brown; a doberman and collie cross, to be exact. So the idea was born and carried out. Nathan was chased away and later found dead and his followers soon forgot their ideas of mutiny.
No dog is aware of Hekmatyar's secret. He intends to keep it that way. Anyone who pries too much into his reasons ends up dead somewhere, never to be heard from again.
The choice is this: will you chose one of the three packs and follow Hekmatyar's laws, or will you be a rebel and join Crane, working to end this discrimination and killing? Whatever you chose, the path won't be easy. That's just the way it is on Broken Redemption.

We are still recovering from the loss, so activity is struggling. Please bear with us. We are healing. But we still hope that you will join us!
